>One of the things that make anonymous imageboards any special is that every poster is meant to be on the same level. No post counts, no join date, no levels

Well this would be fine if posters didn't stratify themselves by their actions. Hell, I remember on /a/, first "everyone" talked about how they hated Gaia, then about how they hated ANN, then about how they hated Animesuki, then about how they hated MAL.(order might be wrong) It always had this feeling that huge groups of users would come from these communities and then start talking about how much they hated them for 4chan cred.

Every time 4chan has interacted large scale with another community, it has brought waves of new posters who do act distinctly different.

I am so glad those autism-buttranged pictures didn't catch on as much as I feared they would. They were like metahumor of metahumor and completely pointless outside of /jp/

Speaking of them, I thought /jp/ couldn't take it easy anymore but thinking again, /jp/ takes it easier than ever. People don't seem to get mad to the extent they did in past years. I remember not being able to understand how some people could be so angry.

The constant spam of certain things has started to wind down too. Even those flan threads. And that stupid Sanae and her two asses meme is nearing it's end.

>More recently, what seems to have happened is Reddit stole the entire slew of "mainstay" memes on 4chan
What are they, anyway? Other than /v/'s silly faces from their comics, I don't even know what kind of memes 4chan was using outside of /jp/ at the time.
