They blame each other but it's Anime Matsuri who fucked up. Even before they cancelled IA they had a bad reputation. I went to the con even after they cancelled because I was locked in.

AM was told specifically what equipment they would need to host ARIA and instead of getting the equipment that they requested they got something else entirely. There is even a statement by 1st Place regarding what happened, which if you read between the lines means AM really fucked up and was putting the blame on 1st Place because Japanese companies don't usually post media that would come off as aggressive but they needed to set the record straight and even went into some details about other stuff like AM apparently producing IA merch without their consent.

I attended the con and aside IA being absent it SUCKED. The merch hall? On point. Everything else TRASH barely any panels, guest appearances that sucked, the game room was literally a SMASH tournament on a projector and a row of WiiU's with Minecraft on them and a single Groove Coaster machine.

Every event I went to was trash. The line ups ended up taking an extra 2-3 hours or more before you got in and once you got there it sucked. The best was charging us $5 for a "Hentaifest" that was just an amusing stage play that lasted about 30 minutes. It really sucked, the whole thing was a dumpster fire.

I'm just going to have to assume 1st Place won't let it happen again. Me and my group are already planning to go.
