FKG anon from last thread, I'm now about two weeks in. Everything is still comfy as shit, thanks to the two anons who gave advice. Sorry if this is too much of a blogpost for the jay, but discussion for the game seems totally dead so I thought I'd throw in a few observations if anyone is interested in hearing first impressions from a greenhorn.

- Started playing the game for Night Phlox but fell in love with Japanese Gentian instead. I want to protect that smile

- The game feels easy enough that you aren't punished for using 5*s instead of rainbows and can easily fit a few 4*s or lower on your team without gimping yourself too much, but rainbows still have an obvious advantage for whales. It's technically an RPG, but the crux of the gameplay is more about time/resource management and optimization.

- The rates for 5*/6* are awful but the freebies make up for it. I've almost started looking forward to logging in each day just to see what arbitrary bullshit excuse they've come up with to lob 5+ flower gems around again.

- The featured event girl (Skullcap) is a ridiculously bad unit with dogshit abilities but I can't stop using her. GED WEDDY BIG WAEVU

- Skill activation rate and evasion >>>> literally everything else from what I've seen thus far. Skill activation rate gives a ridiculous amount of offensive team support and minimizes much of the RNG while evasion is a meme-tier ability that turns even relatively shitty knights into fantastic defensive specialists.

- Quality control for the VA/art of the girls is all over the place. Most are fine and there's clearly a few standout artists/VAs, but Fatsia/Calla/Red Tulip's artist is one of my least favorites in the game (Red Tulip has fantastic bloom artwork though, so maybe he's gotten better) and a few of the 2*/3* units like Strawberry have low-quality art as well. Then there's Star Cluster, who's fine visually and has a competent VA but suffers from horrible audio distortion in almost all of her voice clips.

- Leveling up units has been arduously slow so far because I've gotten six 5* yellow units from the premium gacha, compared to two purples and one (1) of both red and blue. Thankfully there's a few thousand event girls to farm for, will probably work on Lunaria next now that Catchfly has been fully flowered up.

- why the hell do so many of the girls have pink/blue hair

- Obtaining life crystals is painful in the earlygame. There's only a tiny trickle that comes in over time, mostly from dailies/secret gardens, and it doesn't feel worth it right now to spend it on anything other than blooming hearts.

- I wish equipment flowers would go on sale more often, especially for 5* units. I wouldn't mind spending $10 every month for flowers to max out equipment slots for Night Phlox and a few others, but they're usually sold in $20-50 limited-time bundles as rainbow flowers packaged with other goodies I don't care about.

- Players who leave their gardens as empty, desolate pits instead of loving, painstakingly laid out homes for their girls are the worst sort of scum.
