I gave them a fair chance these last few days but I'm still not a fan of papaya elevator girl and especially not kageroubut it's still a solid album and give it like a B- out of 10 or something

Bitaa boi here and I finally gave Metal Galaxy its first start-to-finish listen

The Good: I definitely can't say that this is a boring by-the-numbers generic metal album like Metal Resistance was. It is all over the map, some of the songs I wouldn't even call metal. For instance Brand New Day sounded like a Future Bass song with guitars instead of the typical bubblegum synths, and then the Konami Code song took it one step beyond and was just a straight out Future Bass song. Those tracks aren't going to win over casual metal fans or metal purists but I applaud the decision to completely get outside the box and I enjoy those tracks. Like others said there is a strong Passcode vibe/sound in a few tracks and again that's something I really enjoy. Overall this album really did manage to rebalance the scales of "kawaii" vs metal compared to the dud that was Metal Resistance. Also, barely any Whoas, there was a few in just one song, that was the biggest surprise for me.

The Bad: Way too many fucking guest vocalists, I don't know if Koba is still trying to show off how much of a real metal band he thinks Babymetal is but the way to do that would be to let your singer sing without being crowded by guest vocalists. Same with the meme male growling vocals, it's way overused and often used in all the wrong places. Also Su can't sing in English and they need to stop forcing it, and I think the majority of us don't want her to sing in English. Also there was way too many effects and modulation on her voice in tracks that I otherwise enjoyed, especially on the first CD, or often her vocals were just oddly mixed where the instrumentals were drowning her out. I get that Yui's gone and so we're not getting any Yon No Utas or Black Babymetals again and it's all about Su so it would be great if Su actually had more of chance to shine on the album. When she does get a chance to sing without any of that bullshit it's great but everything I listed above really hinders a skilled vocalist and it's put into play too often
