So hey, I finally made up my mind to learn Japanese.

I downloaded the ebooks torrent and I'm planning to start Heisig.

From the first few pages I see it tells you the meaning of the kanji or whatever, but aside from that, is there anything I need to do? I heard about flashcards, but honestly I don't know what they are.

Can I do it with just my computer and pen and paper? If so, what are the steps I need to do for starting?
