Their visual novels are far and away more enjoyable than of their work in other media. Type-Moon made me really enjoy "sound novels" as a subgenre for the first time, and to this day I try (unsuccessfully) to get people to try Fate/stay night unvoiced first, because the production values combined with the atmosphere created when SFX and music are the only accompaniment to the text and graphics makes it thrilling in a way I've never felt from a voiced game.

Of course, these days people new to the medium who want to "get into Fate" treat VNs like a fucking chore because they can't be bothered to read YA-novel-level text, so it's becoming a tough sell even with voices.

I also think Hollow Ataraxia is the best thing they've ever produced.
