Hey, /jp/. Are there any fanmade or non-canon characters you like?
Believe it or not, the one on the left is fanmade. Sendai Hakurei no Miko. The "supposed" previous shrine maiden.
I personally haven't seen her outside of a few games and Osana Reimu.

Rumia (In adult form) was eating too many humans, and had become quite the menace to Gensoyko.

Reimu's mother came and beat her up, then imprisoned her at the shrine by tying her to a tree. Reimu, a small child, offered Rumia some food. But Rumia was too proud and angry to accept it, at first...

Eventually, Rumia opened up and befriended child Reimu and her mother. They spent a lot of time together, having fun, and Rumia never ate another human again.

But it wouldn't last. Rumia had to eat humans to survive. Her hunger began to grow, and she started to lose control. Rumia fled the shrine and took refuge in the forest, hoping that she could either overcome the hunger, or die trying. She had vowed to never eat another human.

Yukari tried to convince Rumia to eat. She had to eat. If she did not, she would lose control, die, or both. But she refused. Rumia would not budge, despite the immense pain she was in.

There was only one choice left. Rumia had to be put down before she lost control and ate another entire village. Reimu's mother came to her in the forest. After exchanging some words, they did battle, Rumia only defending herself.

Through tears and repeated brutal blows, Rumia persisted. The final blow came. But it was not Rumia who was given a fatal blow...

With the last bit of energy she had, Reimu's mother attempted to seal away Rumia's hunger.

When Yukari found them, all that remained of Reimu's mother was a puddle of gore. Rumia had eaten her, and regressed into a child. Her memories had faded, and her intelligence with it.

Reimu was, of course, devastated. Yukari removed her memories.
