I've been putting off learning the language due to gay ass kanji for a good decade now, but I'm thinking of taking the plunge and actually giving it a shot now. Where should I start?

I've been trying to learn python. I read half of Zed Shaw's "Learn python the hard way". (This is an extremely short book I might add) I created a cool program that asks you for numbers to and calculates them for you, that was kind of fun.

My crippling imageboard addiction has been holding me back though, and when I can get away from imageboards, it's mostly spent on anime, or sometimes music/manga or games.

My brain doesn't let itself relax and I have a very short attention span for what used to be my real hobbies, due to my imageboard usage. I'm ashamed to admit this on here even anonymously, and I hate even letting myself hear it in my head, but I wouldn't be lying if I told you the majority of most of my days is spent on imageboards. I just wish they could dissapear sometimes.
