You're strawmanning me here.
I'm not saying you should have no parents, I'm saying they should help you. As I already said, Buddhism isn't about a loving parent holding his baby's hand while the kid's learning to walk. Buddhism is more about putting a leash around the kid's neck and dragging it around, threatening it with hell each time the innocent kid fumbles.

>Taoism tries to get a free ride by leaving it up to the individual to reach enlightenment by themselves. But if this were possible, there would be no need of others' experiences to guide us.
Again, you pick only what helps your argumentation. Check out Miko's place. It's a dojo. It's not a temple like Myourenji where people are living, it's a dojo to "helps" with their training.
See where I'm getting at? Taoism is about helping people find their own way. Buddhism is about blindly repeating mantras like a moron. Have you saw Kyouko? She's the friendly yamabiko at the Myourenji's door. Sweeping while repeating things she does not understand, in hope that it will enlighten her.
Buddhism treats its acolytes like shit, making them do menial tasks while repeating things that don't make sense in order to break their will and train them to obey blindly.
Taoism is about letting students reflect, sometimes with the help of a proverb, about what life is about.

>Of course, the notion that the here and now is only a drop in the ocean of existence is alien to taoists. That's why you put such importance on immortality over reincarnation, on desires and accomplishments, and on the importance of lolcats and wanking. (Well, okay, maybe those last two have some worth...)
Not sure where you're getting at here, but you may have noticed that Taoists are influencials people. An influencial person blessed with long life could bring a lot to humanity. Just try to imagine how the world would be if Napoléon has been living for 500 years, how beautiful Europe would be.
