Keyword would be arguably but its likely the best one. Its probably the only episode where all gens involved were actively participating with enthusiasm, even 2cool4u Maki was into it. The 2002 Shuffle Unit episode was a great ep although some members were overpowered by the main players of h!p at the time.

Ren'ai Hunter is an acceptable start to h!p in my opinion. It was a catchy track, had new members, a relative engaging MV and was released in a time where jpop was starting to infiltrate 'western internet' if you will. Personally, I first started following h!p properly with Kimagure Princess.

I'd go with everything before 5th gen or even loosely during 4th gen releases. There's a noticeable transition into the bubbly pop music idol group during Mr Moonlight and Souda We're Alive.
