Also for someone to turn into a witch, this person needs another fully-fledged witch to be her guardian, which is basically the same thing, having its magic validated. When Ange is brought back from oblivion to the golden land, Maria says something along the lines of ''I knew you would eventually understand'', suggesting that the author isn't framing Maria's views as ''wrong'', or at the very least not completely wrong. On the contrary, the whole ''magic ending'' for Ange validates this concept of magic as a good thing (even when it was shown in the story how tragic it was for Yasu and Maria). It's not like Ange had anyone alive that would validate her magic (and I'm not even sure this is a healthy thing to do even if she had someone). Someone might say that Ange had inside her the spirits-memory of her whole family, and that was enough, but Maria having Sakutaro and Beatrice was not enough for her. I don't know what to think of all of this, looks like a mess to me.

I genuinely can't listen to Umineko's OST because I get a weird feeling. The OST is so fucking good but every time I hear it I'm reminded how I'll never get to enjoy Seacats for the first time ever again, and I'll also never play a VN as good as Seacats. I hate how impactful and how influential a piece of media has been for me.
