actually viruses aren't de facto parasit, some of them could be considered as living in some form of symbiosis, like the erpstein-barr and papilloma viruses.
wether they are living being or not is up to debate and i won't pronounce myself on the matter
there is also the fact that parasit are a part of the ecosystem just as much as any other organism, and as such play some role in its equilibrium
