I don't think Lambda is supposed to have a past that we are never told about and never will. She has a strong connection with Higurashi, I seriously doubt Ryukishi will ever write a story about her past that has nothing to do with Takano. That would kind of ruin the character, since it was introduced as a fun Higurashi reference.

So I think it makes sense that she is the embodiment of Takano's achievement or something along those lines. She wouldn't be the first character in Umineko that is the embodiment of an abstract concept.

She would still manifest long before Hanyuu started trying to save Rika.
