Is this an American thing? I've never heard a man here in eastern Europe act like fapping is more shameful than farting for example. Everyone knows that you do it, your parents know that you do it, even your local priest knows that you do it so just don't talk about it in polite society and don't do it in public. Those are the unspoken rules.
