Could it be that Ange was kinda obsessed with Bern in the first place? Bern was just pulled in because of that, like Lambdadelta was later in the story.
She wanted to ruin her life so she could grow up strong through harsh conditions maybe it was this or:

Witches for me are the representation for concepts and somehow many times cognitive processes which Bern fits the heavy logic pragmatic realism often pessimistic approach. Someone died artificially then must be a murder or a suicide and closing all the possibilities of not coming from a human source. Simply the context of the novel would be a family culprit theory because of the red truths excluding non-family members (correct me if I dont remember properly). Lambdadelta being everyone else that is open to possibilities beyond that which is conspiracy theories heavily based on intuition since the access to proofs is denied therefore a catbox.
I am still wondering about Erika but I believe its a representation of extreme scepticism fedora tippers atheists that we meet many times in real life since the current zeitgeist favouring them in society.
Since Bern should represent more then simply that, Erika is a subproduct of Bern so its just a piece for her and obviously inferior and easy to trick and manipulate and Erika loves it. I would call it delusional rationality that can even happen to many scientists today ignoring facts that can even deny their scientific narrative to favour their egos. This simple detail about Erika and Bern behaviour it proof enough to show Bern concept is beyond the part she played specifically to be a villain in Umineko.
It's hard for me to not accept this from what I see and I said i'm kinda ashamed of it because makes me feel like just an average headcanon shitposter. Only solution to this its Ryukishi confirming that was his original idea of what he meant or be convinced that accidentally created it and agreeing since this can happen with story telling.

Today I had a dream with Bern and Lambda.

I have no idea the context but I knew I was in some kind of game, where some people including myself where trying to win it by overcoming obstacles and enemies.

It was Lambdas game and she was always around us and talking to us. Nothing was automated, Lambda was always checking on us and we had to show her hardwork and perseverance in our decisions, everything was real and we would have pain or die in that game. Lambda would reward us with progression of the game if we would show her the kinds of decisions she preferred. Sometimes it would be very difficult to solve a problem or defeat an enemy head on, so Bern would show up waiting for us to find a solution that would be smart, cunning or just well done strategy. If she was pleased she would reward us with progression by hacking Lambda game, Lambda would be annoyed (in her own tsundere way towards Bern) and would lock away Bern from that game and us, so we wouldn't "cheat" in her own game. Bern would eventually free herself and we could use her help again.

It was a nice idea because it was just like Lambda was a real life tabletop RPG GM where things would happen depending on her mood and amusement with the players, if we were lazy and cheap, she would make the game more difficult and more dangerous.
