Give me a Ciconia thread to talk about it.
Higurashi threads are mostly talking about which characters they like. There are some discussions about the new chapters but not much is said beyond repeating that some liked or didn't like Sotsu or the new manga chapters.
Umineko threads used to be able talking about the mystery but no one cares. It's to be expected after a decade since its final chapter.
Ciconia threads have the more interesting discussions because it's new (relatively) and since there's on continuation, like Umineko argues, without a conclusion that gives the answer, you have the perfect mystery. It's a catbox. Though, unfortunately, since people don't think, no one really argues, so the conversations don't even happen.

It's generally for those reasons that I don't spend too much time in /a/ or /jp/ 07th threads. It's repetitive and nothing is said. When you have foreknowledge, why bother?

The plot of Ciconia is Tamura spreading the Hinamizawa Syndrome across the planet causing a zombie apocalypse to fight against Une trying to wipe out humanity, and Koshka trying to figure out what's happening before going back in time to stop them.

I'm legitimately upset Phase 2 is taking so long because Ciconia has massive shitflinging/distrust/suffering/humiliation potential. The characters are obviously playing it safe and avoiding saying anything controversial or really sticking to their beliefs since they're essentially representatives of their country, but this is bound to change when the going gets tough. This is a world that hasn't seen serious military conflict for a long time, so shit actually going down is going to break down some of the characters to the point of insanity. Yeladot Shavit becoming basically WH40K commissars by the end and firing at friendly fleeing combatants sealed the deal for me.

Besides the classic WTC paranoia, you now have ideological and national allegiances, a cast where 60% of the characters are DID schizos, battle stress and PTSD and so forth. The potential here is massive.
