Why do people like anime Kyou? Anime Kyou is the very definition of screwing up a character, yet she is liked by fans of the anime. They like her, but they like the butchered version of her, the generic tsundere bitch, which also seems to appeal to certain people. Even if you screw up a character, there are still people that like the screwed up version of the character.

Incorrect. This reasoning is based on 2 unproven assumptions:
a) Clannad is the best VN.
b) If a VN is the best VN, its best heroine is the best VN heroine.
I'd say Clannad isn't the best VN, but Kyou most definitely is the best heroine.
