After doing a few 2-2 runs, heavily CLT/opening torpedo CL stacked fleets got routed to either D or EK. 2CV3SS1CLT still went D, and it seems D/E is random, possibly with weighting for having a carrier. Once I hit 3 carriers I went west. That makes boss killing easier than my first runs with torpedo squadrons, and it was quick for killing transports.
