A little off topic but, I've been reading Chaos:Child lately and I'm very impressed by how it's directed and storyboarded. I've been told over and over in a circle jerk tier fashion that Mahoyo is the pinnacle of the way a VN is presented. Is that really true? Not to downplay Mahoyo but what about it in terms of a VN made it so impressive? Do people only say that because of the light works stuff in chapter 5? Outside of that I can't particularly remember anything that's mind-blowing as a VN. Have TM fans just not tried non-TM VNs? Their sprites don't even have a moving mouth when the character speaks. Mahoyo is fantastic of course but I feel like it's been undeservedly put as the peak of the VN medium because it has a higher budget than the average VN? Idk I'm just rambling
