While I like Sakuya's spellcards, and ability a lot more than Ran's, it's hard to tell if she's really daft, or if she just pretends to be. At least with Yuyuko, it's somewhat implied she really knows what's going on 50% of the time. On the other hand, Ran's a math genius.

Besides that, Sakuya PCB outfit is the only one that can even come remotely close to Ran's outfit in looks.

Speaking of Ran, I'll have to go with this. There's just something about all the details that makes me really like this art. Also because it does show Ran for what she is: a being from mythology, and a powerful one at that.

What do you know, I guess this is one of those situation where "youkai" is such a broad term, it's difficult to make any large generalizations about all youkai in general. So I guess SOME youkai can breed and give birth to half-youkai, while other times, a normal human could just become a half-youkai, perhaps through possession or other means. For example, I don't think Karakasa breed naturally.

I disagree. I don't have much to back it up with anything concrete, as anything else is pretty much just my interpretation of Ran's character.

But really, fanon isn't limited to a single personality. An overly protective Ran is simply the most common one depicted. There's only a handful of doujins that focus more on the relationship between Ran and Yukari as opposed to Ran and Chen, but they're still there, nonetheless.
