Obviously he'd pick Sakura, no? Because he's Sakura's superhero.
And yet he would let many people who love him die because he loves someone else more.
Does that make that relationship dumb?

Shirou is aware from the get-go that there is no endgoal to his ideals. He wants everyone to be happy, period.
Heaven's Feel is retarded in how it acts as if Mind of Steel Shirou is what he would be if he followed his ideals in that scenario.
That's retarded. Shirou wants everyone to be happy. If he kills or lets Sakura be killed for everyone else, then he already abandoned his ideals.
Shirou's ideals are not Kiritsugu's, so Shirou doesn't subscribe to the many > few mentality.

And yet, despite that, HF pretends to be making a point when it's merely bumbling towards its conclusion.
Again, you can't say HF argues that Shirou's idealism is bad, because that idealism gave birth to Archer, whose arm he used to save Sakura.
Nasu even says the previous two routes are valid conclusions despite everything, and Shirou not becoming Archer pretty much confirms he made the right choices there as well.

And she already makes a choice in the prologue when she uses one of her most valuable items to save Shirou for Sakura.
Despite how that item would've helped her advance the Tohsaka family's status by helping her win the HGW.
But HF comes about and she gets all bitchy about it, a complete 180 to the very prologue.

And he does so by directly validating Archer's existence and the value of his ideals.
The narrative directly tells you it's a good thing that a Shirou became Archer, because otherwise Sakura would be dead or a worm onahole.
Emiya Shirou's idealism is what saved the day in Heaven's Feel.
