For me vocals bring a certain quality that you can't get with just instruments as they add a whole new layer.
Mostly I prefer instrumental songs but goddamn I do love me some good vocals as I like to sing along with them.

It's fine if you don't enjoy vocals as I myself didn't like them at first but I warmed up to them after a while.
Not all songs need lyrics and being purely instrumental is fine or even better.
