I think AI Kiritan (and other AI singers) is sort of a game changer (not like Miku in 2007, but within the current vocaloid base). If you listen to beginner or mid-low tier Vocaloid producers the singing is (usually) terrible. If the program can tune itself and you just give it the score and the lyrics, it's a huge improvement for them. It's the difference between finding a singer that already knows how to sing and having to teach one from scratch.

But it's also a two edged sword, since getting a singer is different from creating one. The AI singer is opinionated, and we already seen it will not be able to sing fast or uninterrupted songs (like famous songs by cosMo@Busou-P and Wowaka) or other stuff like holding notes for long. And it will always tune itself to the best possible, but there isn't an objectively best tuning (Mitchie M goes for realistic, Sasakure.UK goes for robotic, Harumaki Gohan goes for his own thing, and all those are pretty good sounding), so it might lead to samey sounding vocals (even if all of them are technically good).
