"Y-You surprised me!" A second voice shouted back, this one sounding a little less sharp and a little more scattered. Curious, I edged out from behind Miss Yuuka's back to see what I was looking at. The room we'd emerged into looked to be a kitchen, if the supplies across all of the walls were any indication. It was hot inside, and I soon saw that this was due to the large oven taking up the back wall, which looked like it was brick with a hot flame inside. A delicious smell permeated the room, and I hadn't smelt much like it before, which made me very curious as to what it was. Even here, there were windows which opened out onto what I assumed must have been the mansion's inner courtyards, though they had been converted into indoor gardens, and as such, were also full of flowers. The sun must have only been able to reach them for a short amount of time each day, and I assumed that they were hardier winter flowers, the kind that could survive without very much sunlight.

Of course, the girl at the other end of the room was the part that caught my attention the most. Blonde hair that curled in curious rings at her shoulders and around the back of her head, and a large hat even though we were all indoors. A red dress reached all the way down to her socks, and I spotted the frills on the dress as she walked. The sleeves were long, though she had pushed them up to her elbows, and there was a light sheen of sweat on her face. "Phew, I'd already taken the bread off the tray..." She sighed in relief, then took notice of us. "Ah, Lady Yuuka? There's two intruders behind you." She patted her hands on the apron that she was wearing over her dress.

Miss Yuuka cocked her head slightly. "I do not need you stating the obvious, Elly. Especially when it's untrue. Do you really think two intruders could sneak up on me in my own domain? Don't act like you're foolish." She stepped into the room further, then turned to the side and began to pull her vest off, leaving her in her shirt and long skirt. Hanging the vest from a hook at the side of the room, she lifted a large apron that was slightly dusty with what appeared to be some sort of white powder and hung it over her neck, then tied it at her back. Finally, she pulled a sort of headscarf from another hook and affixed it to her head. It had a large sunflower ornament on the side, which was rather striking in my opinion. With the whole ensemble completed, Miss Yuuka suddenly seemed to transform from a dangerous-looking youkai to a happy and kind-hearted chef of some sort. "Now, Elly.." She said with a bright smile as she turned and rolled her own sleeves up, "How did the bread come out?"

"Er...I think it's right? I'm not all too experienced with this, though..." The girl's name seemed to be Elly, and she looked a little unsure of herself. "Um, Lady Yuuka, who are those two?"

"Those two, Elly?" Miss Yuuka turned back to Yamame and I and beckoned us over. "They are two individuals whom I have taken an interest in, that's all. For now, you can think of them as taste-testers. We'll see how well the bread has come out, and they can have something to eat, as a thank you for being such excellent houseguests." The Yuuka Kazami that appeared when she was wearing the apron seemed a lot more relaxing to be around than the usual one, though I wouldn't say I didn't like the regular Miss Yuuka either. "And, for providing me with the pit of a Heavenly Peach."

"For pr- Wait, they gave you that!?" Elly asked, rushing over to Miss Yuuka. "I've been asking you for months and you've been brushing me off with mysterious answers!" The girl was much shorter than Miss Yuuka, but she carried herself stiffly. It reminded me of something. Some other person I'd seen recently.
"And perhaps if you'd deigned to learn some patience, I would have answered you properly." Miss Yuuka admonished Elly, though it was fairly polite, all things considered. "But yes, this curious human," She indicated me, "Did indeed provide me with the peach pit which is now threatening to grow taller than the mansion itself." She frowned and put her hand on her hips. "Are you planning to ask me questions all afternoon, Elly?" Elly restrained herself from answering back, instead shaking her head. A moment later, after Miss Yuuka had walked past her, I heard Elly mutter under her breath about how she wouldn't have to ask so many questions if Miss Yuuka simple gave the answers. "Did you say something?" Miss Yuuka asked, clasping her arms behind her back and leaning over Elly's shoulder to peer at her face. Elly frantically shook her head again. "Excellent!" Miss Yuuka beamed a radiant smile. "Why don't you go and clean yourself up, hmm?" She asked Elly, who nodded and darted over to the hooks in the corner of the room. She hung her apron on one and disappeared out of the room in a flash.

I guess we will never know what happened to anon. She does know how to cook so at least he won't starve if she doesn't try to feed anon his own limbs

I cri evritiem wen I see the title. At least I can escape from the cruel reality by drawing my waifu. Hopefully one day I will pass asutora and be the best Yuuka artist out there so I can express my love for her in a way she truly deserves.
