dating apps are shit, i agree with that. However you still have some idea what the person is like and where to look for people who might be compatable with you. It's a lot better when it's an online friend imo, because online it's a lot easier to find people who are like you, especially if you're introverted. Via vidya, hobby forums, etc etc...
It's kind of the same with blind approaches. Knowing yourself and knowing where you would hang out you could try to guess where a potential suitable partner might be and go from there. Might not work if you're introverted
As for arranged by third party stuff, you know nothing about your date. You could be completely incompatible for all you know and all you probably have is a vague description by the suitor father who is desperate to get her a man so she could stop being a burden to him. Also the whole third party suitor thing makes the whole ordeal a lot much uncomfortable and awkward.
