So, we got up, Yamame smoothed some of the wrinkles out of her clothes since she'd been sleeping until Reimu had entered, and Reimu pulled her sleeves back on, then waited for me to pull my boots back on, and finally we were back outside and standing on the veranda. There, I pulled Reimu into a goodbye hug and remarked that the new vest really was soft. "Oh, shut up." Reimu mumbled, hugging me back. "Don't forget what I said, okay?" She whispered. I let her go and she shot me a significant look, so I smiled and nodded. Yamame looked between us with some confusion but didn't say anything. Shrugging, I grabbed her hand and headed off to the torii gate, turning one last time to wave goodbye to Reimu, who waved back and headed back into her room.

I begged Yamame to let us walk home, since I'd had a bit too much flying recently and could do with a break. "...Can we skip the stairs at least?" She asked me with a hopeful look in her eye. I eyed the massive staircase, sighed, then said to go ahead, and she sighed in relief, wrapped her arms around me from behind, and lifted off the ground. Once she'd reached the bottom of the stairs, she released me and I stumbled for a moment before I got my balance. Once I had, we began to walk. "What did Reimu mean?" Yamame asked me, playing with a loose strand of her hair. "About not forgetting what she said?" I swallowed uncomfortably, since I didn't want to tell Yamame what my plan was. Just to be careful about not getting kidnapped anymore, I said. I assumed it was because she was sick of worrying about me. "Me too." Yamame said, wrapping her hands around my arm. "I was really worried when you disappeared the other day. I love you and I don't want to lose you." I almost lost all of my trains of thought there and then, so I stopped in the middle of the road in the freezing cold Winter air and kissed Yamame deeply, then whispered that I loved her too. After a moment, I managed to let her go again and continue walking, hand in hand.

The village was quiet at this time of day, and even more so because of the weather. I saw one or two farmers on our way in, and they must have taken notice of Yamame, but none of them said anything or looked particularly interested. Perhaps they thought she was just some weird human girl who lived outside the village, like Marisa. Either way, we were into the village before long, which was just as empty. I spotted Miss Miyoi from Geidontei, who I'd forgotten was running the place as the poster girl. "Has she always been there?" Yamame asked me curiously as she spotted me staring. "I'm certain I saw that pub the last time we were here, but I don't remember a poster girl." I shrugged it off, assuming it to be just one of my memory problems and that Yamame just hadn't really known the village enough to tell. "Weird..." She muttered as we wandered past.

Other than that, nothing much was going on. With the harvest having just ended, most people had done all the shopping they felt like doing, and with the cold weather, no one seemed to watch to come out either. We made it through the whole village and only encountered one other villager, who just vaguely nodded at us as he headed off in the direction of the canal. Before long, we were at the caves, with Yamame telling me about her plans for Kagerou's new hood. She'd taken measurements while I'd been sitting in Kotohime's 'interrogation room', and she was determined to do a good job for her new acquaintance. I'd made some great strides in dealing with my new aversions, but Kotohime's treatment had brought some of them back, so I found myself squeezing Yamame's hand tight to get me through the tunnel.

And finally, we were back home. Yamame's house looked like a great comfort to me right now, and I breathed a sigh of relief once we were back inside, even though I knew that I'd have to brave the rest of the tunnels alone if I wanted to reach the Hot Springs Town. "It always feels like so long since we were here." Yamame commented, stretching until a few satisfying pops emitted from her back. She sighed happily. "Good to be home, hmm?" I agreed and asked her what she wanted to do now. "Now? Hmm, I can think of a few-" There was a knock on the door and Yamame glared first at it, then at me. "I hate you." Why me, I asked incredulously. "It's always when I try to do something with you that someone gets in the way!" She moaned, then shifted me out of the way so she could get to the door. "Yes, yes, what is it!?" She yelled, throwing the door open.
