When Nasu food obsession to a character, as some "le funny quirk", it always end up being cringey or outright tiring (Saber Alter with junkfood, or case in point: Ciel's curry obsession).
If I remember correctly, Ciel's curry obsession only came up once in Tsuki, when Shiki bribes her with some, but even there it's not for sure, whether she's genuine or just playing a role.
but ever since KT it's always been "curry xDD" and "India xDD".
The only time this kind of gag actually worked was in HF. After seeing Kirei acting like a mustache twirlingly evil psycho for 2 routes, it was amusing to see him dorkily gobbling up a bowl of mapo tofu, in that context it made him seem more human.
