All BBs hit the firepower cap in combined fleet so it should be doable with Monkeys.
The trick was loading all torpedoes on every single girl for me. 170something damage to BB Hime in closing salvo as well as 100something to already scratched boss sealed their fate. Only 1 attack plane on each carrier, no AACI in the fleet whatsoever.
