Fate/Stay Night takes a lot of shit for being a shit game. Many refer to it as the "gay cousin" of the original Tsukihime series, but I disagree, and I'll tell you why. FSN was the first, and only eroge game (besides Da Capo), where the girl was not in need of saving. She's actually your servant, which is also the first time we'd seen that. And by giving the player a choice on who they'd like to fight, not only do they get to experience the Holy Grail through 3 different routes, but they can strategically choose which girl to fuck. This is, of course, limited to Rin and Saber, since Ayako is a plain character and Sakura's just worthless.

Another aspect which this Anon enjoyed were the unique CGs the game provided. While, for instance, in Tsukihime, the game consisted of mostly clicking and reading, FSN provided eye candy, with multiple screen flashes, engaging the player in a you-are-really-there way. Also the h-scenes provided ample amusement, while still keeping the tight story going that it's predecessor relied so heavily on.

Collecting bad ends is the only way to get a tiger stamp, making you earn that comedy scene, rather than have it handed to you or placing it in an extras menu. FSN also brought us the first appearance of such lovable characters as Rider, and of course Ilya. Oh and don't forget this game ESTABLISHED the option of Rule Breaker. Previously once you had chosen a girl, you could not get another.

And let's not forget Lancer, fellas. Don't even start me on Lancer.

tl;dr - Fuck you, Tsukihime, enjoy your backseat to one of the greatest VN games of the 21st century.
