First I recommend you set up a Paypal account if you haven't.

Ebay is a great place as long as you know what you're doing. You should never trust any sellers who aren't Japanese, especially not the Chinese ones. They are 100% fake and will sell you bootlegs. The reason Ebay gets a bad reputation is because of the Chinese sellers, but otherwise, as a buyer on Ebay, you pretty much have nothing to fear with the buyer protection. If your item gets lost or something you can open a case and get refunded without any worries. It's on sellers that Ebay (and Paypal) are harsh.

Since I'm from Europe I never order from US sellers (shipping is too expensive, I don't trust them and fuck taxes) , but I suppose most of them are legit. Stalk their profile and use your common sense to know whether they are or not.

Other websites you can use :
www.amiami.com to pre-order new stuff. Prices are normal and fair here, which means, let's say... a new Miku plush is announced and you want it, it is THE place you want to go to to pre-order it, because if you wait for Ebay or other websites to have it, you'll have to pay more for it.
https://solarisjapan.com/ some items can be sort of expensive but it's definitely worth taking a look just to get a better idea on prices and such. I've ordered there a bunch of times and always received good service.
https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/ you can get a lot of great stuff for cheap here. You might be a bit confused on how the thing works at first but push through and get used to it. Make sure to know whether you're buying something used or new as not the whole thing is translated.

Lastly, use https://myfigurecollection.net/ , make an account there and start making a wishlist. People over there also sell stuff and you'll get notifications when it's relevant to your wishlist.
Anon meant buyfags.moe, but honestly from my experience I find it not helpful when it comes to Vocaloid plushes. 99% of the people from >>>/a/166445735 buy figures, not plushes.
