Abortion is legal in Japan as long as it is done within twenty-two weeks of conception. In 1997, a total of 337,799 abortions were reported. Among these, 23.8 percent were among women between the ages of twenty and twenty-four, and 20.4 percent were among twenty-five- to thirty-year-olds. The number of abortions overall has decreased since the 1960s, but the teenage abortion rate is increasing. This increase is occurring because teenage girls lack knowledge of birth control and their reproductive function and rights. When women have abortions, they have strong feelings of guilt and fear of taking a life.

I have been saving for a while for a trip to Japan, and I've almost got $4000 which should be plenty, so I'm gonna go for a few months at the end of next Spring.

Anyway, today I casually mentioned this to my grandmother, and she was vehemently opposed to the idea, and said that people only go there to "molest little girls" and that she wouldn't "let" me go.

I said that I was obviously not going for that reason (if I were, I'd be going to Thailand or Cambodia or whatever, certainly not Japan) because I was not a pedophile (I'm a pretty good liar) and she said I obviously wasn't but that because that's what people think (i.e. single men only go to Asia to fuck kids) that I'd be suspected no matter what.

Anyway, there's obviosly no way for her to stop me, I just found this pretty odd.

Is it just me, or do all Japanese people look the same

like, within the same margin that white people would be if they were all the same family

in fact i've seen white/black/arab families that had more variety than japs

also, in my area there are more japs than blacks or arabs, and i can tell them apart just fine so it's not just about how often you see them
