can't believe it took me this long to realize that playing 2hu is like getting /fit/. just as your body needs rest to grow in between workouts, so too does yourself when playing 2hu.
i first started seriously grinding for an EoSD normal 1cc last year september and i played fervently for the following months. i grew frustrated at being a shitter, so i "quitted" last year december. the month following that, i decided to pick up EoSD on a whim and was surprised that i was able to 1cc it on my 1st try that day. after that, i decided to dick around and jump around the series, but i never got that far. i fucked off around april to focus on alicesoft titles without any new 1cc.
i jumped back in yesterday after reading the previous gameplay thread where some literally old oldfags were talking about their declining ability to play 2hu, so i wanted to see again how shit i was since i'm also past my prime. it was really surprising to see myself reach stage 6 of MoF (never reached sanae's boss fight before) and finally 1cc PCB.
it's odd because back when i was addicted to rhythm games such as DDR, i just played nonstop and i grew without limits. now that i'm not that young, i feel like i'm gated by some level cap every time i grind skill-based games like 2hu, so i need to rest to be able to make a breakthrough.
sounds so fucking dumb, but it basically feels like i reached a level-cap and need to rest to be able to limit-break myself.
