One's lack of vocabulary knowledge will greatly impede grammar study beyond the bare basics. Tae Kim's grammar guide is 100x more effective if you don't spend all your time with your nose in a dictionary.

You're better off mining 1000 or so words from the EASY NHK news/pokemon for a month or two, and then watching Japanese Ammo with Misa so you're not constantly breaking your focus with Jisho.
