I usually assume that you use and like, let's say, popular ships purely because of their superior performance instead of personality, voice, looks. It's fine to like and use useful ships because of their personality, voice, looks, but not because of their superior performance. That's just bad taste since you never got the chance to use other girls, which you might like more.

Not really, unless they screw up her appearance or personality.

Liking and using ships purely because of their superior performance=bad. You might as well play something that's not card collection game if all you care about is "winning" the game. Especially when you can win with pretty much everything if you put in extra effort.
