It's like the most basic Cirno factoid. Everyone else understands that fairies are unchanging nature spirits that are older than they appear to be.
Cirno's repeatedly established as a weird outlier amongst fairies who is far more powerful than typical and will either become something else or simply die because her current existence isn't sustainable.
And ZUN later introduced another fairy that's highly implied to have been a millennium old deity at some point, so that makes two really old fairies.

Yeah, but she's a fairy, and not terribly bright, so it's rather unlikely she'd learn it by studying. Fairies just run on their own experiences, and even then they forget or misremember most of it.
Even an ancient flower youkai had difficulty remembering the nature of the periodic flowering, let alone the younger people. It's not considered a memorable phenomenon.
