so, mirena's theater is introducing a metal-opera version of their play, and, expressed desire to perform abroad. i think i know which group's success they are trying to emulate.
i'm pretty sure amuse has been anxious to expand internationally but isn't willing to risk music venues anymore and sees theaters as a much safer alternative.

and unlike japanese music, there's no cringy fanbase with japanese plays that you get associated with (just some incidental cringe because plays are a bit gay and liking japanese things is a bit weird). moreover, a whimsical japanese metal opera is just wacky-japan enough to give you plausible deniability of being a weeaboo.
