Is Gensokyo its own world? Like, because Yukari created a boundary between it and the outside, does that mean she also created an entire separate world with distant lands, continents and such? Or did she just specifically isolate one part of Japan that seems to have its obvious border to the outside world apart from the Hakurei Barrier. I mean, obviously both Gensokyo and outsider citizens share the moon if the Lunarians are anything to go off.

I would kill for ZUN to make a fully detailed map.

touhou has such a rich, deep, and lively world. it's fascinating in every aspect. it's unfortunate that the canon games ,fighters and arcade style bullet hells, are two of the least immersive genre of gaming. not to say i don't love them for what they are but i feel like gensokyo has so much more potential.

I wish we has an official map of Gensokyo with a detailed legend. It would probably need to be split into parts for locations like hell or the lunar capital.

I have another question. On the wiki it says that Maribel and Renko lives in a Japan in an unspecified future. Would they still be there in the outside world right now, in the current Gensokyo year?

Always liked this map. There's a labeled version out there too but I don't have it. Distances may not be accurately depicted but I think the locations are placed correctly based on the info that's been given by ZUN. I could be thinking of another map though. Not sure.
