My first problem with MG harems is the same "fairness" problem that most anons seem to have - in that it's difficult to really *believe* that a chick could be OK with only having a half-share (or less!) of your heart. If she's someone you love, doesn't she deserve all your affection and attention? Often being surprisingly romantic people for the scum at the bottom of the Internet, usually the answer here seems to be "yes", that it is not a good thing to do to require her to settle for half.
Sure, if you have to let one of two lovers go it might be heartbreaking for her in the short term, but in the long term it's better she find someone new, who can give her all his love, like she deserves.

My other problem with MG harems is a practical one: that I headcanon MGs to be so horny you're going to be an exhausted, sleep-deprived, perma-ball-aching wreck just keeping up with a single lover. Having two might literally kill you.
