uh... i did, anon. i somehow saw this coming from miles away, it made perfect sense that the next game would be phantasmagoria, even before 100th black market was announced. it was a gut feeling more than anything, but i'm very happy i was right. you don't want new music for all these characters? 'phantasmagoria' games typically have the most by this regard, and it makes me excited because i know ZUN will do a music release alongside upgraded and guarenteed new character themes. one may panic and say 'oh, we're not getting a new bullet hell game until 2025 now waah' but the reality is that there's an even higher chance of another .5 game being released next year. at the current pace, every touhou game that comes out after now will have a .5 game, i feel. returning to this format allows the creation of arcade machines to touhou, which i guarentee will be made given just the screenshots already shown.
anyways. speculation on characters? possibilities of a character being relevant?
Confirmed characters:
Reimu, Marisa, Aunn, Nazrin, Seiran. 15 slots - 2 for stage 8 and 9 characters = 13 possibilites.
Judged as highly likely:
Kutaka and Saki, given the nature of this screenshot. >>43250667 i understand the impulse to say that Sekibanki is in, but if anyone this signifies it would be Kagerou.
Possible:
Youmu, Aya, Reisen, Nitori, Doremy
Unlikely but possible:
Kudamaki, Kasen, Kyouko, Yachie, Orin, Mamizou.
Characters with no chance:
Chen/Ran (would just be Yukari), Yuuma, Manga only characters. Joon and Shion.
