I know you're joking and all, but you ever think about how sca-ji - one of the most famous, successful, and arguably important visual novel makers of all time - wrote a really long and detailed review of henpri praising it to the moon and back, but also talking about how he worried it wasn't translateable? Think about that, a Japanese man reviewing a Japanese game and a significant portion of his review of the game was purely dedicated to worrying that EOPs wouldn't get the jokes if it was translated. Isn't that so fucking weird? Are we really living in a world where Japanese authors making games for a Japanese audience have to take the translateability of their games into account?
I mean, I know Miel abandoned high school settings specifically to get more of their games on Steam, but I haven't heard of anyone else doing it.
