Producing electricity is easy. regulating it is a bitch. Remember, most devices run off 60 hertz AC at 120 volts. I can make electricity, but can I generate it to those specs? Not with my knowledge or Gensokyos tools. Maybe if I got tremendously lucky, Kourin would have a diesel generator. I could convert it to use bio-diesel and use whatever veggie oil is available.
