Is Onishi's life out of an anime? Or rather, can we make an anime out of Onishi's life?
>Be a girl born in a relatively economically comfortable, middle-class family, yet away from the city life you long for.
>In contrast, your dad is a rough man who is hardly ever at home due to work, and on those times he's back he seems to speak with you only through disparaging comments. But deep down this is simply the only way he knows to spur you to improve yourself and not be content with how you are now. You develop a sour relationship with him out of this misunderstanding.
>Suddenly your dad dies due to failing health, and you are forced to work odd jobs as the economic stability gets undermined when you are still at a young age. When you are handed over his belonging you discover he had been cheering for you in secret all along, never revealing it to anyone.
>With this as an encouragement, you become a national idol, touring Japan and representing your home region in many an official events. However, you never received the recognition for your efforts.
>As destiny would have it, one day you find yourself in a web streaming competition,by mere chance pitted directly against a management-pushed member who has never known what hardships are like and who is using this opportunity just to advance her career in the eyes of wotas. Despite all the unfair advantages and free exposure she can benefit from, your fan support prevails and you, as the ill-treated underdog in this story, are victorious.
>One year later, you find yourself on the stage of an idol vote contest, right next to the same girl you beat before. Once again the story repeats itself: despite all the endless management efforts to push her, the love of your fans allow you to rival her in the number of votes, only a handful away from even outranking her.
>After years of sporting feminine long hair, you cut your hair short to a masculine bobcut, a symbol of character development often seen across Japanese pop media.
