Have you tried Power Within? It drains health yeah, but gives a potent boost to stamina regeneration and damage reduction, aside from the obvious damage boost. It's a DPS race, and honestly, it's a shit fight. It goes against the whole 'be very cautious' thing DkS had taught players up to that point.
