The thing they probably expected to deal with stuff like Venti freaking out about Gura being pedobait and they probably already have rules about not mentioning things like the upcoming elections, they probably didn't take into account people freaking out about statements about China and how many are in the west are a lot more pro-Taiwan than in Japan. And it's not like they can just pull out of CN in the position they're in now to appease the outraged.

I guess it didn't help that both Haachama and Coco are arguably the west's darlings out of all of HoloJP.
