"The opposition against us grows, but is fragmented. Some problem actors, like the younger Satori, are no longer a factor and they're too many large egos for our enemies to coordinate effectivity. However, the sheer mass of forces allied against us is worrying and we faced HEAVY harassment coming here. House Yakumo may be a force onto it's own and she has the freedom to move how she pleases, but Yukari's time is limited and we need the smaller channels open to free her capacity for more important work."

"Ah, you mean to say that we of the Kiketsu family haven't been pulling our weight?" The small human spirit asked, saying the quiet part out loud.

Another omission? My patience is being tested.

"Goro-kun..." I began, leaning back in my chair. "...Please kindly share everything your hidin-"

A loud crash interrupts me as Seija slams her fist into the table, sending tea cups flying and shaking the room.

"Oi, pond scum." She began. "If you don't stop lapping at my man with that filthy tongue of yours I will tear it out and shove it up that guy's ass." She threatened, pointing to one the guards stationed beside me.

"How dare you ingrate I'll-" the guard begins, making for Seija before I pull his collar and knee him squarely in the stomach.

"Apologizes, my people are nothing if not full of spirit." I say.

"At least they're straightforward." Seija huffed, before taking her seat atop Goro once again.

"Well one can't blame a girl for trying after all." I said.

Interesting. Seems that my power to tear away resistance was automatically reversed by the Amonojaku and applied backwards to Goro somehow. Was the extension a conscious effort on their part or did Seija's ability extend itself naturally?

Their ability was a mystery to me and a dangerous one at that. Seija's capabilities were, in principle, powerful, turning anything on it's head, from phenomena, to aspects, and maybe even allegiances. But unlike boundary manipulation she was limited in some way, maybe lacking some technique or 'strength' that someone like Yukari had acquired. Did Goro provide her with either? Perhaps completing her in a sense?

My spies had reported they were somewhat capable, holding their own against a vampire and the Young Shrine maiden. More fantastically, some of them even suggested they were capable of closing gaps. But that didn't make sense, if the pair had such power they would have won those fights, resisted the runaway Kasen, and would be more then bit players for the Yakumo.

I'd ask the Blue Hermit, but she just gave me some esoteric nonsense like 'Seija is Goro's arm and Goro is Seija's heart', a vapid jeer no doubt. Konngara couldn't be bothered to answer any of my questions because she 'couldn't be less concerned with weakling affairs'. And Yukari? She just gave me the most infuriating grin imaginable and said 'you'll see', one of her many schemes no doubt.

"I want to ask you-" I began before the doors burst open and Son Biten arrived.

"Miss Yachie! I just heard something good!" She yelled, jumping over excitedly.

"Ah, who's the couple?" She asked, looking at Goro and Seija who waved and chuckled at the question respectively.

Interruptions were becoming today's theme it seemed.

"These are Seija and Goro Biten. They've come to say hello from Yukari, now what's so urgent?" I asked.

"Ah, well..." She began, looking a little flustered "The River Suzan was flipped by these two." She whispered into my ear.

"What do mean flipped? Is that some sort of metaphor?" I asked.

"Uh, no, it literally got flipped, but I think it's working again now? A bunch of Shinigamis we're complaining about consequences like 'strandings' and 'overtime' that I didn't really get." she explained.

I turn to the two, Seija merely shrugged. "If you two are talking about the Suzan, that Yama deserved it."

"Personally I'm kind of embarrassed about the whole affair. Thinking we should maybe send Shiki-Sama a gift basket or something to apologize. Eh, she was kind of asking for it though." Goro added.

I closed my eyes and contemplated how long I'd have before an angry Shiki came banging down my door. Maybe she was stuck organizing the cleanup? Can't imagine whatever they did, metaphorical or not, would go unpunished...

It wasn't worth thinking about I suppose, rather, this was a blessing. Seija was clearly on the upswing with a new toy and that was good news for me if I could leverage her against Yukari somehow...

"Say, how would you two like to be honorary members of the Kiketsu family?" I asked, smiling.
