I've heard this story so many times, everything was so perfect on /jp/ but then vtumors came and everything went to shambles. I believed it, I really did, but the more I think about it, and the more threads I see, the more I feel that the vtumor scare is just an exaggeration. Most vtumors stay contained in their own generals and don't post in 2hu threads, so what stops anyone here from making threads like they used to? Yeah sure there's less thread space now but that doesn't seem like a convincing excuse for the fall of the board. 2hu imagedump and character threads can still survive, and I've yet to come across a single vtumor post in these threads, or at least the ones I browse.
>but there at least were a couple of quality threads at any time
"quality thread" is kind of subjective, I consider >>44866194 to be a quality thread because I enjoy the sitting reimu edits and the effort put into them. It would be helpful to give examples of what you consider to be a quality thread if this is not what you mean.
>lore threads
Still being made occasionally
>fangame threads
Also still being made occasionally
>threads about something interesting some anon found etc
Not sure about that one, but I don't see why someone wouldn't be able to make such threads

The way I see it is that the major problem here is that most good threads die of inactivity, which is because there is less people interested in 2hu on /jp/ now and they left due to the great vtumor scare. This leads to a vicious cycle where less posters lead to less quality threads which leads again to less posters. And it doesn't help that /jp/ is still fierce at gatekeeping when there's little left to gatekeep. You hate to hear it, but newfags are the only hope left for /jp/, we should not gatekeep people who display interest in 2hu, even if it's minimal, on the contrary we should encourage these people to develop their interest further.

I've been on 4chan since 2016 but only started using the jay last year. I see oldfags here complain that this place has gotten worse but frankly this place is 100 times better than the rest of 4chan in my experience.
/jp/ is one of the few places that have not yet been corrupted by s*yjaks and wojak/frogposters, the anons here are full of love rather than hatred, there's some racism here and there but it's mostly ignored and i don't think there are any /jp/sies who are racist unironically, it's probably only the crossboarders (you know which board i'm talking about specifically) who preach racism the most.
As for sexism, well this place is full of virgin dudes (myself included) so i don't expect it to be better than the rest of 4chan in that regard, personally i try to avoid such conversations and steer away from them.
For most edgy posts it's difficult to tell if it was made unironically, ironically or made as a bait, i think this is called Poe's law.

Anyway, the message here for everyone is that you should be nice even if you're anonymous, it's what made this place what it is.

4channel posting Flandre.
Does anyone have that other image where other characters teach her how to respond the general way?
