Counterpoint: Wing quality. It's good to enjoy chowing down on your tengu's wives eggs, but the wings are where it's all at. They're a source of a tengu's pride and can tell you much about their health. A tengu in poor health like Hatate will have her feathers lack a shine and will be off color or even spotty. They in general will shed more often. But a tengu in good health will have nice shiny feathers that are a consistent dark black and will shed less. Obviously a tengu with more muscular wings will be healthier then one with weaker wings. A Tengu's fine motor control over them is also something to look out for. While some will say it doesn't matter because it's all genetic and can't be changed, wing size is important. Sure, they all say size doesn't matter, but do you want your tengu wife to be unable to cover you with her wings?

Did you know wings are not only used for flight, but to attract mates as well? In fact even humans seem to have a fondness or them despite not really understanding the importance of a nice set of wings. So be careful if a tengu asks you to touch her wings.
