When you think about, it's rather strange, right? This setting, I mean.

KC always talks about how this is because of a succubus that became the Demon Lord, and infused the mana of a succubus into the rest of the monsters.
Set aside the question of how a mid-ranked monster such as a succubus ascended the throne. Set aside the matter of how she recruited the Hero of Mankind in her efforts. Even set aside the question of how she managed to perform the final infusion of her mana into the other monsters, something that had never occured before in the history of the Demon Lords. Consider, instead, the single most peculiar part of this tale.

In the age of the former DLs, succubi were still enemies of humanity. Of course, there were records of human-monster relations before the current DL, such as on Zipangu, which has a long history of men and monsters living together. But succubi are a different matter. Although they did not consume of human flesh, they are still credited with such developments as keeping humans as livestock. Just having any succubus take over would merely change the nature of humanities peril, not put an end to it.

As I see it, out of all the different races of monsters that could develop a genuine and true love for even a single human, let alone all of humanity, the Succubi would be the last one you would expect. They are evil, conniving creatures that mimicked human emotions only to put us at ease before pouncing.

I wonder what could have happened for someone such as the current Demon Lord to come into existence.

Mine would have a very nature-based theme. A room within a huge tree or cavern but with enough windows or shafts to let a lot of light in. A huge, very comfy bed in the middle, with huge fish tanks and other enclosures for various creatures set up on the walls and perhaps even the floors and ceilings for observation as we cuddle after sex.
