Luckily /jp/ actually turned out well and developed a fairly wide range of posting material unlike those other boards. Instead of spiraling down in a cesspool of weirdos posting repetitive pictures and roleplaying threads, we actually have surpassed not only the board that spawned us, but 4chan as a whole.

I see no problem having /jp/ as a collection of specific subcategories that could be part of other boards. The reason I come to /jp/ over those others is that I enjoy the perspective of the people who post here. Even with a wide variety of topics that aren't so well defined, the manner that we discuss them tends to be different than those other boards.
