You need a microscope to see these cups. I think that they were added by the artist to this scene, rather than by ZUN. They don't even interact with them, and frankly, I have a hard time thinking about how she could get so close to the kettle without anyone noticing. Honestly, I was much more interested in Satori sippin' on some water that Rin gave to her in chapter 7. Since that cup was much more prominent, I thought that maybe she would be possessed, but it looks like it also went nowhere.
But can the spirit even use abilities of the people she possesses? She didn't seemed to use Sakuya's or Patchy's abilities.
